Freyja is a still a young dog, being at the time of this writing only just over two years of age. She was a very smart puppy, always very! full of herself.. she never seemed to be a baby dog, but very much like her mother Oppa, she always seemed old for her age.. Freyja loves to learn, and was started in training classes at the age of nine weeks, she was trained in showing, basic training and agility training, she is a clicker girl all the way! She has a high prey drive, which shows up clearly in just how hard she is willing to work with the sheep flock. Freyja travels well, she had her first flight across country when just a wee pup of a few months old, traveling to alberta, she was back the next year for the first national breed Booster, (where she won Best Puppy and Reserve Female.) I also drove from alberta to ontario with her in the motorhome that fall, what a great trip and as always she was such a easy girl to travel with. Freyja is one of our every night bed dogs, she rarely has to go crate at night, she will do so with no issues, after at all the crate is in the bedroom, so she can still hear us breathing. I am not sure why she became a full time bed dog, as that has been Bella's job for coming on ten years now.. but somehow Freyja decided that she was the up and coming replacement.. Freyja is very good with children and likes other dogs and will spend a far amount of time playing with other dogs thoughout the day, having said that, she is a boss girl, she is Not! the top dog in our house, and she is very good about working within those pack rules, but she is Top Young female in the house and there she tends to rule with a little black iron paw.. She loves to sleep on the top of the sofa or behind your head on any of the rocker chairs etc.. when she is outside, she is a black blur of speed, and it sure seems like she never stops running, she has two speeds.. smelling or rolling or digging something, and warp speed ahead.. I have to put her on her 20 foot lead to get her to trot, and she is trained to a lunge line just like a horse would be.. and I can get her to go both directions. She loves water and will choose to follow us in the river to go for a swim.. Overall, while she can be a bit reserved with strangers, she is very attached to her family, and I can't think of a single day since she was about six weeks old that she has not asked for at least one or more snuggles per day..
