| The First Years- Icelandic Sheepdogs in Nunavut,Canada We lived in Nunavut for just over four years, and enjoyed many hikes and trips out onto the local tundra. Vaskur went with Jason to many different areas of Nunavut as his "camp" dog. |

| Our Favorite Hiking Area by Iqaluit, Nunavut I Love this photo, if you look to the middle right, you can see the local sandpits, we often camped by the river. If you go to the first top of the ridge, you can just see the line of house, and we lived in the blue ones.. just after the two sets of red roofs.. then you have the bay, with the hills in the background.. we often hiked over into the hills on the other side as well but it was much rougher going and not easy to get across the bigger rivers over there.. The land was much gentler on this side of the bay.. and we took the dogs for runs daily an hikes most weekends from spring to fall.. |
